Job summary

JLRD, Inc., a Florida-based MEP and fire protection consulting firm, seeks an Electrical Designer to own project portions from concept through construction documents. This role emphasizes design decisions within scope and coordination with other disciplines, reporting to the Electrical Department Lead.

On-site in West Palm Beach, FL. The designer will produce Revit MEP models, perform load calculations, and collaborate with architectural teams on room layouts and equipment placement.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field; equivalent experience considered.
• 3+ years of electrical design experience for building systems within an MEP consulting environment.
• Strong proficiency with Revit MEP and AutoCAD; understanding of NEC (NFPA 70) and Florida Building Code.

Responsibilities

• Own assigned electrical design scopes from concept through construction documents.
• Produce Revit MEP models and construction documents, including lighting and power plans, panel schedules, and drawings.
• Perform load calculations, panel sizing, and circuit sizing under supervision.
• Coordinate with Mechanical, Plumbing, and Fire Protection designers; review markups and maintain drawing organization.
• Support clash detection, RFIs, submittals, and site observation documentation.
