Job summary

Henderson Engineers seeks a Designer II to design intermediate building systems, prepare design documents, and perform engineering calculations in coordination with project teams. You will be responsible for occasional task management and mentoring of less experienced designers.

You will collaborate with clients, architects, and project teams to ensure design integrity and adherence to Henderson's guidelines, applying industry standards and delivering quality documentation on schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in relevant field with 3 years of experience or 6 years with a HS diploma or equivalent.
• FE exam preferred.
• Proficiency in engineering design software and Revit/Bluebeam Revu; MS Office proficiency.
• Intermediate knowledge of codes, design guides and standards.
• Ability to work in a collaborative, client-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs calculations and designs basic to intermediate design systems with minimal supervision.
• Prepares system layouts, detailed drawings and schematics.
• Reviews shop drawings for conformance to plans and specifications.
• Prepares or modifies reports, plans and designs for projects.
• Provides technical guidance to others when appropriate.
• Supports project management and coordination activities.
