Job summary

ESPO Corporation is looking for an Electrical Designer II for a 6 month contract. This role requires expertise in developing and checking engineering drawings, particularly for electrical systems. You will work on multiple projects and must have a minimum of 5 years experience in electrical design and engineering drafting.

The desired candidate should possess knowledge of CADD techniques and have an associates degree in relevant fields, or equivalent experience. The position includes a comprehensive benefits package consisting of PTO, health, dental insurance, and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Raster Design or 3D modeling is a plus.
  • Additional certifications in basic electronics and/or electrical systems desired.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and develop various types of electrical diagrams.
  • Produce complex 2D engineering drawings.
  • Check drawings for accuracy and completeness.
  • Communicate with project engineers to resolve design discrepancies.
  • Perform field walk‑downs and obtain project measurements.

Job description

Electrical Designer II (6 Month Contract)

Pay Rate: $40-$47/hr

Location: Perry, OH

Must be a US Citizen

Responsibilities

Designer II, Electrical will be responsible to understand and develop wiring diagrams, connection diagrams, one-line/three-line diagrams, schematic/elementary diagrams, logic diagrams and conduit/raceway diagrams. Designer II, Electrical will have the ability to produce complex 2D engineering drawings. The individual will be responsible to check drawings for accuracy, including dimensions, spelling, drafting standards and completeness, utilizing correct project design criteria. Participation in field walk‑downs as necessary will be required to obtain measurements, verify as‑built documentation, and develop field sketches in support of plant modifications and design installations. The position requires the individual to exercise independent judgment to develop designs with minimal direction from Design Supervisor, Design Lead or Engineering, and to concurrently support multiple projects. The individual will need to communicate with project engineers and other disciplines to develop drawings and resolve design discrepancies. The ability to interface with the customer and their construction representatives to integrate designs to satisfy their standards is essential. In addition, the individual must be able to perform walk‑downs of equipment in an industrial plant environment, including climbing ladders, working at heights, carrying equipment up to 50 pounds, accessing security‑controlled areas, and entering confined spaces and controlled hazardous areas (e.g., high temperatures, high radiation).

Qualifications
  • Associates degree in drafting, design or engineering technology or 4 years of equivalent experience in the design of electrical and controls systems.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering drafting and electrical design practices, in addition to the education requirements.
  • Knowledge or use of Raster Design or 3D modeling is a plus.
  • Ability to utilize various drafting and CADD techniques as required for project requirements.
  • Additional certifications and/or courses in basic electronics and/or electrical systems desired.
  • Recent plant modification package development and/or field experience on nuclear power plant projects is a plus.
