Job summary

Stratus Team LLC in North Wilkesboro, NC is seeking an Electrical Designer to plan, design and create electrical systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional facilities. This full-time role involves CAD/BIM work, fire alarm, lighting, and energy modeling under guidance from engineers.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor or Associate degree and 1–3 years CAD design experience in an engineering environment; TWIC is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associates degree in relevant field.
• 1-3 years of design (CAD) experience in an engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan layout of project and organize design information on sheets with guidance from an engineer or project manager.
• Determine local code and jurisdictional requirements for a project and/or consult with client.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to design, lay out, or detail components and systems and resolve problems.
• May train CAD technicians engaged in preparing drawings.
• Review specifications and drawings to assess factors affecting design.
• Create and revise detailed design drawings for electrical systems using CAD/BIM software.
• Collaborate with engineers or design manager to meet codes and safety requirements.
