Job summary

SSOE Group in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an Electrical Designer to design, develop, and implement electrical systems for state-of-the-art industrial facilities. The role focuses on low to medium voltage design, conduit sizing, short circuit analysis, and cable tray fills.

You will work onsite in the N. Phoenix area, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure safety, compliance, and high-quality deliverables.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Associate degree in engineering or architectural fields preferred.
Proficiency in AutoCAD required.
Experience with Revit, ETAP, SKM PowerTools, EasyPower is a plus.
Ability to produce power distribution schematics, panel schedules, lighting and grounding plans.
Proficient in interpreting electrical one-line diagrams and construction documents.
Knowledge of electrical codes (NEC, NFPA) would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

Develop detailed electrical design drawings and documentation for process equipment installation.
Determine conduit, conductor, and wire sizing based on loads and environment.
Assess cable tray fills for proper management and future scalability.
Perform short circuit calculations to determine fault currents and select protective devices.
Perform voltage drop calculations to ensure system stability.
Ensure designs comply with local, state, and national codes and standards.
Collaborate with Designers, Sr. Engineers, PMs and other stakeholders on project goals.
Foster cross-disciplinary collaboration to optimize efficiency and quality.
