Job description

Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Facilities Electrical Designer III to join our team in Brook Park, Ohio, supporting the NASA Glenn Engineering and Research Support (GEARS) Contract. As a key partner on the GEARS team, Peraton provides multi-disciplinary technical services to maintain, enhance, and modernize facilities at NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC).

This position supports the Facilities Infrastructure Division in managing and maintaining institutional control systems at GRC. The ideal candidate will have experience in control system design, documentation, and troubleshooting within an independent, project-driven workflow. Responsibilities focus on control system modifications, drawing management, and system integration.

Responsibilities of the Position:

  • Manage open change requests for building control system design projects.
  • Develop, update, and maintain control system drawings, diagrams, and documentation to ensure accurate as-built records.
  • Work with engineers, project managers, and technicians to integrate system modifications into existing control architectures.
  • Provide technical support for system upgrades, including modifications to HVAC, electrical, and process control systems.
  • Validate contractor work and ensure compliance with project specifications and control standards.
  • Work across multiple disciplines, applying electrical, mechanical, and process control knowledge as needed.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma with a minimum of 3 or more years of experience. An Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in controls, automation, electrical is a plus.
  • 3 years of experience in any controls environment (building automation, industrial automation, or process control). Electrical environment.
  • Ability to review and validate technical specifications and contractor work.
  • Experience with control system programming concepts (any platform) is a plus but not required.
  • Must be a US Citizen and able to pass a U.S. government background investigation and drug screening.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong background in electrical control systems with the ability to support mechanical and process control disciplines as needed.
  • Experience with control system programming concepts (any platform).
