Job summary

Atlantic Constructors, Inc. is seeking an Electrical Designer for modular manufacturing projects in the Richmond, VA area. The role focuses on electrical, instrumentation, and controls design to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency.

You will develop and refine electrical diagrams, assemblies, and control systems, collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and fabrication teams to deliver modular building solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate degree in Electrical, Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent science degree.
• 5+ years of related experience in a Design Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering role.
• 5+ years of Electrical, Instrumentation or Controls installation experience.
• Advanced knowledge of API, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, etc.
• Known for expertise, strategic vision and enterprise perspective.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls Design for Capital Projects.
• Create client issue drawings and detailed fabrication drawings using Revit.
• Develop electrical Revit families and custom electrical components.
• Prepare single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, interconnection schedules, and panel schedules.
• Design and coordinate MCCs, switchboards, panelboards, PDUs, CDUs, PLC systems, and fire alarm systems.
• Support Engineering and Construction Contractors as needed.
• Support Operations and Maintenance as a technical resource.
• Apply industry codes that apply to an industrial manufacturer.
• Provide instrumentation and controls design support through all project phases.
• Maintain and apply company instrumentation design criteria and specifications.
• Troubleshoot instrumentation issues including electrical, mechanical, and computer controlled systems.
• Assist in factory acceptance testing and field inspections.
• Create, update and draft design documents such as loop sheets, motor schematics, panel schedules, I/O cabinets and onelines.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.
