Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Designer to join a leader in the power industry. This is a fully remote, contract-to-hire position requiring experience in Power Generation and/or Oil & Gas industries.

Responsibilities

1. Design duct bank, embedded conduit, cable tray, grounding, and lighting systems from concept to completion using engineering documents, sketches, or vendor data.
2. Create and check 3D models, ensuring no interferences and constructability issues.
3. Route electrical cables in a 3D environment to develop cable schedules.
4. Model electrical components based on vendor submittals and designs.
5. Perform NEC-based calculations for conduit fill, cable tray systems, and pull box sizing.
6. Gather information for design development and verify voltage separation requirements.
7. Create plan drawings and electrical details for deliverables.
8. Analyze, inspect, and ensure designs meet electrical quality standards and procedures.
9. Resolve checked drawings and address comments effectively.
10. Coordinate with project team via project database tools, including RFI, ECN, and review processes.

Qualifications

• Experience with 3D programs such as SP3D, MicroStation, AutoCAD, and familiarity with current OS.
• Ability to conceptualize in a 3D environment.
• Power Generation and/or Oil & Gas industry experience is a MUST.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
