Responsibilities:

1. Utilize applicable engineering and local codes.
2. Design duct bank, embedded conduit, cable tray, grounding, and lighting systems from concept to completion utilizing engineering documents, sketches, or vendor data.
3. Report project progression updates and/or issues to the project lead team.
4. Coordinate with the project team using the Project Database: Request for Review Process, Holds List, ECN, Requests for information from other disciplines, and all other applicable functions.
5. Develop 3D models using drawings, sketches, and design skills. Check and navigate in the 3D models for interferences and constructability.
6. Route electrical cables in a 3D environment to generate a cable schedule.
7. Model electrical components using vendor submittals and electrical designs.
8. Perform calculations to check allowable fill in conduits and cable tray systems according to NEC requirements and size pull boxes.
9. Perform calculations to size pull boxes according to NEC requirements.
10. Gather information needed to develop design and verify voltage separation requirements are met.

Qualifications:

1. At least 8 years’ experience in Design and/or Drafting disciplines with a background in electrical design.
2. Experience utilizing 3D programs such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, or SP3D, and knowledge of the latest computer operating systems.
3. Ability to conceptualize in a 3D environment.
