$85,000.00 – $140,000.00/yr

Position Introduction/Key Duties

Cimarron is seeking mid-level and senior-level Electrical Designers with Revit MEP experience to provide design support for the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase of the Sentinel (formerly GBSD) program in Ogden, UT. Cimarron provides engineering and technical support to Bechtel for the design, construction, and integration of the Sentinel launch infrastructure at locations including Vandenberg AFB, CA, F.E. Warren AFB, WY, Malmstrom AFB, MT, and Minot AFB, ND. Sentinel is a crucial US Air Force program to modernize the nuclear triad, specifically the Minuteman III ICBM. This onsite position offers a 9X80 work schedule (every other Friday off), paid overtime, and a great work/life balance. Relocation assistance is available for non-local candidates.

Key Duties:
  • Create models of electrical rooms, equipment, cable trays, conduits, etc., in a 3D Revit environment.
  • Coordinate 3D model activities, including input and interference reconciliation with other disciplines.
  • Design electrical systems, including circuits and raceways.
  • Responsible for raceway design, equipment layout, C&R schedule inputs, conduit, and aboveground raceway design.
  • Work under the guidance of senior engineers/designers.
  • Produce drawings and documentation, including lighting, communications, grounding, and lightning protection systems.
  • Perform independent creative design using industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Support construction with technical expertise on electrical materials and equipment.
Required Skills, Experience, and Education:
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to security requirements.
  • Ability to obtain an active Secret clearance.
  • Valid, unexpired Real ID-compliant driver’s license or state ID.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of NEC code and ANSI/IEEE standards.
  • Experience creating electrical system drawings for nuclear, industrial, data centers, or complex industrial facilities.
  • Proficiency with SmartPlant 3D.
  • Understanding of industry and regulatory standards.
  • Broad electrical engineering design knowledge.
  • Experience with electrical equipment layout, raceway design, and clearances.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience modeling electrical rooms and equipment in 3D.
  • Previous experience with DoD/DoE, USACE, NAVFAC, USAF, or NASA projects is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ISO-9000 quality assurance procedures.
  • Experience with electronic Cable Management Systems, such as SETROUTE.
  • Ability to manage conflicting deadlines and multiple tasks.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Further preferred qualifications include advanced knowledge of electrical design and project management in relevant sectors.
