Job description

Johnson Service Group (JSG) is recruiting for Junior and Senior Electrical Designers for a 12-month contract supporting the U.S. Air Force facility near Ogden, UT. This onsite role offers a W2 hourly rate with overtime pay, per diem, and mobilization/demobilization. The pay range is $50.00 - $77.00/hour, depending on experience and education.

U.S. Citizenship is required.

Position Summary:

This role supports the ground infrastructure component of the Sentinel Program, modernizing the U.S. nuclear deterrent triad, including ICBM systems and launch infrastructure. This is an onsite position at Hill Air Force Base, near Salt Lake City, Utah. Full-time presence on the project is required.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop electrical engineering system designs, including earthwork, drainage, road design, foundations, and steel detailing, producing detailed models and construction drawings.
  • Lead tasks and assign work to less experienced electrical designers/drafters.
  • Assist in constructing detailed scale models.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical design standards, codes, and regulations to maintain quality.
  • Review and check calculations, models, drawings, and documents for accuracy and quality.
  • Participate in constructability reviews.
  • Coordinate bulk material quantity take-offs and requisitions.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines to coordinate overall design and technical requirements.
  • Assist in developing work plans, budgets, and schedules based on supervisor input.
  • Provide on-the-job training for electrical design personnel.
  • Generate 2D drawings or 3D CAD models with minimal guidance.
Education / Experience:
  • Associate Degree or Certificate in Engineering or CAD Design.
  • 2-7 years of experience in electrical drawings for nuclear, industrial, data centers, utility plants, or complex building systems.
  • Experience with SmartPlant 3D, SmartSketch, and/or AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering design principles, systems, schematics, and layouts.
  • Understanding of engineering deliverables, standards, and codes such as NEC, NEMA, ANSI, IEEE.
  • Experience with electronic Cable Management Systems, e.g., SETROUTE, including database corrections.
  • Ability to manage conflicting deadlines, interruptions, and multiple tasks.
  • Excellent technical communication skills.
  • Ability to resolve design issues independently and collaboratively.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Qualifications:
  • Experience with DoD/DoE, USACE, NAVFAC, USAF, or NASA projects.
  • Experience with ISO-9000 quality assurance procedures.
