Commonwealth Engineers, Inc. in Indianapolis, IN seeks an Electrical Designer to join our team. You will create and update power, lighting, and instrumentation drawings in Revit and AutoCAD, producing coordinated construction documents and supporting calculations and layouts.

The role collaborates across disciplines to ensure accurate modeling and code compliance. You will contribute to maintaining Revit models, participate in design reviews, and help raise drafting standards through all project

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience as an electrical designer or similar role.
• Proficient in Revit (MEP focus) and AutoCAD for electrical design.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, including lighting and power distribution.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, specifications, and engineering sketches.
• Solid organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify electrical drawings using Revit and AutoCAD, including power, lighting, and instrumentation systems.
• Produce construction documents, plans, diagrams, schedules, and details in accordance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Coordinate electrical designs with civil, architectural, mechanical, structural, and other disciplines to ensure fully integrated project deliverables.
• Assist in performing load calculations, equipment layouts, and circuiting under the direction of a licensed engineer.
• Maintain and update project models, families, and templates within Revit.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable codes.
• Support project teams through all phases, from conceptual design to construction administration.
• Participate in internal design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of drafting and modeling standards.

This role supports electrical design by creating and updating power, lighting, and instrumentation drawings in Revit and AutoCAD.
