Job summary

vTech Solution is seeking an Electrical Designer to independently prepare complex design packages for transmission and generation upgrade projects at various facilities. You will create detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and related documentation while ensuring compliance with standards and codes.

You will collaborate with engineers and senior designers to deliver efficient design solutions within budget and schedule constraints, contributing to multi-disciplinary tasks.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience with a minimum of 2 years in the electrical design or related industry.
• Extensive knowledge of engineering principles, construction techniques, and design and drafting practices.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Raster Design, including experience with drawing management systems such as AutoCAD Vault.
• Strong understanding of related design disciplines and their integration in the design process.
• Ability to generate design solutions following accepted standards and codes.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for technical topics and documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with changing priorities independently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complex drawings, schematic diagrams, cable and conduit schedules, equipment layouts, foundation details, structural details, P&IDs, and bills of materials specific to electrical design discipline.
• Evaluate budgetary and schedule constraints and propose design alternatives to the Design Supervisor.
• Identify and resolve potential design issues early in the development process to maintain schedules and deliverables.
• Review and confirm accuracy and technical completeness of drawings prepared by other designers according to regulations and design standards.
• Coordinate with site teams to ensure record drawings comply with configuration management policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with engineers and senior designers on multi-disciplinary design tasks.
