Job summary

Black & Veatch Corporation is seeking an Electrical Associate Engineering Technician to support power generation design and 2D/3D deliverables. You will model duct banks, cable trays, grounding, lighting, and other electrical systems for APG projects.

Under supervision, you’ll use Bentley MicroStation and related tools to create and modify drawings, with AGI32 experience preferred for lighting calculations across facilities, contributing to safe, compliant, and high‑quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Certificate required.
• Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
• Typically a minimum of 2 years related work experience.
• Pre-employment onboarding may include background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.

Responsibilities

• Supports engineering teams under general supervision.
• Performs technical tasks requiring intermediate knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
• Uses digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling).
• Creates, updates, and maintains technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables.
• Begins providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering technicians.
• Stay current on applicable standards, systems, document control practices, BV policies and procedures.
• Apply knowledge of the BV Quality Program to ensure accurate, compliant deliverables.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail while supporting continuous improvement and change management initiatives.
• Use and expand applications and tools to evaluate and improve methods, processes, and procedures.
• Create and develop project deliverables based on a variety of design inputs.
• Perform basic computations, including material quantity estimates and dimensional checks.
• Coordinate deliverables with other project groups to minimize errors and interferences.
• Support internal client needs while developing an understanding of external client priorities and drivers.
• Proactively seek out, share, and apply knowledge of new technologies and evolving processes.
