Job summary

SolveNow Inc. in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Senior Electrical Designer to join a contract-to-hire engagement. The role focuses on CAD design for electrical power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and communication systems on semiconductor, data center, and advanced manufacturing facilities.

Using AutoCAD and Revit MEP, you will create layouts, 2D/3D models, and electronic document files, mentor junior drafters, and coordinate with engineers to meet scope, budget, and schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 10 years of design experience in 3D modeling/drafting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD required; Revit experience essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead CAD design for electrical power distribution, lighting, fire alarm and communications systems in high-tech facilities.
• Create 2D/3D layouts using AutoCAD and Revit MEP and prepare electronic document files.
• Coordinate with engineers, develop staffing plans, and mentor junior designers/drafters.

Qualifications:

Here's what you'll need:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• At Least 10 years of relevant experience in design utilizing 3-D modeling / drafting
• Proficiency in AutoCAD
• At least 2 years of Revit Design Experience

Ideally, you'll also have:

• Knowledge and application of NEC and electrical design requirements
• Two-year associate's degree in relevant field
• 3 years of semiconductor experience

You'll thrive as you perform computer‑aided drafting and design of electrical power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and communication systems for our clients' advanced facilities. Utilizing AutoCAD and Revit MEP, you'll create layouts, sketches, 2D/3D modeling, and electronic document files.

Our designers are responsible for the delivery of complex packages in coordination with engineers and design leads and form the core of our electrical delivery team. You'll also develop staffing plans based on deliverables to be produced and the project schedule, gain familiarity with the clients' expectations, scope, budget and schedule for assigned tasks, mentor subordinates, and provide guidance to less experienced designer / drafters.
