Job summary

Pure Power in Denver, CO is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects 50 MW and larger, delivering construction documents and electrical power system designs. You’ll work with a seasoned team to develop reliable, compliant engineering solutions for complex renewable energy facilities.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, application of NEC and standards, collaboration with clients and utilities, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years designing commercial/utility-scale solar PV systems.
• AutoCAD construction documents experience (layers, Xrefs, blocks, plotting).
• Working knowledge of NEC and industry standards.
• Understanding of medium-voltage distribution and power fundamentals.
• Proficiency with Excel and Word.
• Strong communication and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read and produce engineering drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer utility-scale solar PV and BESS projects 50 MW or larger.
• Develop detailed electrical designs: layouts, equipment specs, single-line diagrams.
• Perform calculations: voltage drop, ampacity, grounding, fault current.
• Prepare construction drawing packages in AutoCAD.
• Coordinate engineering with clients, utilities, permitting agencies, and contractors.
• Support projects through construction via RFIs and site visits.
• Manage multiple projects and meet schedules and deliverables.
• Ensure designs comply with codes, standards, and QA/QC processes.
