Job summary

Hextronics is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer in Miami, FL to own electrical subsystems from architecture to production. You will drive PCB layout in Altium, perform RF design across drone and dock platforms, and write firmware in C/C++ for bring-up and validation.

You will partner with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to ensure system-level performance and robust hardware solutions through rigorous testing and analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 1–5 years of professional EE experience with full development lifecycle.
• Expert proficiency in Altium for schematic capture and multi-layer PCB layout.
• Deep understanding of analog and digital circuit design, power electronics, and high-speed signal integrity.
• Hands-on RF design experience including antenna integration, impedance-controlled layout, link budget analysis, and bench testing with VNAs and spectrum analyzers.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for firmware development, particularly for board bring-up, diagnostics, and hardware validation.
• Strong experience with simulation tools (e.g., SPICE) and analysis to support design decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end design process for electrical subsystems - schematic, layout, bring-up, and validation.
• Drive schematic capture and multi-layer PCB layout in Altium.
• Lead RF design across drone and dock platforms.
• Write C/C++ firmware for board bring-up, diagnostics, and hardware validation.
• Define and execute verification, validation, and acceptance testing procedures for development and production hardware.
• Drive root cause analysis on hardware issues and ship robust solutions.
• Propose and validate system architecture decisions through simulation, calculation, and hands-on analysis.
• Work cross-functionally with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing to ensure system-level performance.
