Job summary

Bowman is seeking an Electrical Engineer I to join our Towson, MD team, focusing on electrical design and construction document development under supervision. You will communicate with engineers and project managers, conduct field observations, and help prepare specifications and budgets for projects.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s in electrical engineering and is entry level, with knowledge of AutoCAD/REVIT and lighting design tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is required at the time of employment.
• Entry level position; any professional experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and REVIT software, SKM software tools, and/or Lighting Design software (e.g., AGI, Visual) is preferred.
• EIT and LEED accreditation preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Progress toward or plans to pursue Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems in accordance with current codes and sound engineering principles.
• Communicate effectively with engineers, project managers, and clients.
• Conduct field observations to document existing field conditions.
• Organize and prioritize tasks to complete design efficiently within budgets.
• Produce project construction documents to meet milestones and hourly budgets.
• Attend coordination and design meetings as needed.
• Assist with project specifications and budget construction cost estimating.
• Address comments from clients and review authorities; adjust designs accordingly.
