Ardmore Roderick seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to join our Chicago/Downers Grove team, contributing to overhead and underground electrical design for utility projects.

You'll collaborate with Project Managers, learn client standards, use AutoCAD and GIS tools, and support multiple projects from bidding through construction. We value collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement in the energy sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in electrical or power from an ABET accredited institution.
• 0–3 years of experience with electrical design projects.
• EIT certification.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Break down projects with Project Manager into tasks.
• Use client objectives and standards to design and implement projects.
• Work on multiple projects and communicate across practices from bidding to construction.
• Learn new client systems and programs, including AutoCAD and others.
• Maintain timely communication with PMs to ensure project execution and anticipate issues.
• Develop overhead and underground design packages for electric utility projects in Greater Chicago area.
