Job summary

HBK Engineering, LLC is a Chicago-based, licensed engineering design firm with ~700 staff. The Electrical Associate Graduate Engineer role involves designing systems for overhead and subsurface utilities across multiple disciplines and leading design lifecycle phases from start to finish.

The position requires a B.S. in Electrical Engineering (ABET) with EIT preferred, 0–2 years of experience, and US work authorization. Expect collaboration, travel <25%, and hands-on use of AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, and asset-management platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program.
• EIT Certification preferred.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience.
• US driver's license and US work authorization.
• Ability to work independently and in interdisciplinary teams.
• Working knowledge of Office365 and common design tools.

Responsibilities

• Design engineering systems for overhead and subsurface utility projects.
• Own all phases of the design lifecycle from initiation through construction and closeout.
• Prepare detailed engineering and construction documents using AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS and asset platforms.
• Analyze information from surveys, data sheets, and client records.
• Prepare clear reports and meet client requirements.
• Manage project risk with leadership input.
• Communicate technical matters to management and field staff.
• Independent time management to meet milestones.
• Conduct field walkdowns with stakeholders.
• Travel as needed, typically under 25%.
