Job summary

Gilder Search Group client in Carson City, NV is hiring a Staff Electrical Design Engineer to carry electrical design from concept through construction as Electrical Engineer of Record for MV and LV infrastructure across multiple sites.

The role requires an ABET‑accredited engineering degree, active Nevada PE license (or reciprocity), and 10+ years in heavy commercial/industrial design with strong NEC/IECC knowledge. Expect broad project variety and hands-on engineering leadership.

Qualifications

ABET-accredited BS/MS in Electrical Engineering.
Active Nevada PE license or reciprocity-eligible; NV licensure within 2 months of start.
10+ years in heavy commercial/industrial design with evidence of exceptional ability.
Command of NEC, IECC, and relevant NFPA standards.
Advanced proficiency: Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, SKM/ETAP, AmpCalc.

Responsibilities

Own a wide range of electrical systems — MV feeds up to 34.5 kV, LV distribution, lighting, raceway, grounding, communications
Produce permit and construction drawings as Electrical Engineer of Record
Run short-circuit, arc flash, and coordination studies in SKM or ETAP
Perform cable ampacity calculations (AmpCalc) to optimize beyond prescriptive NEC tables
Drive multi-discipline coordination to complete Issue for Construction packages
Mentor junior engineers and manage schedules and QA/QC designs
