Job summary

Futures Consulting in Wisconsin is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to lead design efforts for commercial projects. The role involves producing electrical drawings, coordinating with architects and other engineers, and guiding junior staff through design tasks.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience, holds an EIT certification, and may pursue a PE license in Texas. Strong AutoCAD and Revit MEP proficiency is essential for project delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience designing electrical systems for commercial buildings.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas is preferred.
• Ability to identify and apply applicable electrical and building codes across multiple jurisdictions.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit MEP.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete electrical production drawings from concept through construction, including redline drafting and final issuance.
• Develop designs for electrical power distribution, lighting, and special systems.
• Perform specification editing, submittal reviews, RFI responses, and project change request (PCR) reviews.
• Conduct site visits and field reviews to verify compliance with design intent.
• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and other engineering disciplines.
• Review mechanical and related documentation for interdisciplinary coordination.
• Interact directly with clients, attend client meetings, and support project delivery expectations.
• Manage project tasks and provide technical oversight, supervision, and mentoring to junior staff.

Electrical Design Engineer

The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of design, and planning of projects; works as part of a team or as Lead Engineer on select projects; represents team in meetings; works as part of a team of engineers, designers and drafters.
