Job summary

The Structures Company in Savannah, GA, seeks an Electrical Design Engineer 3 for a long-term contract. You will design interior furnishings and avionics-related systems for new and in-service aircraft, and perform system-level wire diagram work using Capital Harness, AutoCAD or similar tools.

Responsibilities include ELA, developing technical specs, and applying EWIS knowledge with CATIA V5 during cabin interiors design. Candidates must be US persons per ITAR.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Person per ITAR.
• Proficient in system-level wire diagram or schematic design for aircraft.
• Experience with electrical system integration for avionics, lighting and A/V.
• Experience with CHS/XC, AutoCAD or similar 2D electrical design software.
• Ability to perform electrical load analysis (ELA).
• Ability to develop or decipher technical and test specifications.
• Knowledge of 14 CFR 25 Subpart H – EWIS.
• Knowledge of CATIA V5.
• Part 25 cabin interiors certification experience preferred.
• Familiarity with aircraft STC procedures preferred.

Summary:

Designs and develops new or derivative versions of interior furnishings and amenities for new, custom, and in-service aircraft. Performs system level wire diagram and schematic design for aircraft. Integrates electrical systems related to aircraft avionics, lighting, and audio/video entertainment systems. Uses design tools such as Capital Harness (CHS/XC), AutoCAD, or similar 2D electrical design software. Completes system level Electrical Load Analysis (ELA). Develops or deciphers technical and test specifications. Applies knowledge of 14 CFR 25 Subpart H – EWIS based design. Uses CATIA V5 for design activities. Applies Part 25 certification experience for cabin interiors. Makes technical decisions and provides recommendations while employing design standards and acting independently to determine improved methods.
