The Structures Company in Savannah, GA seeks a Mechanical Definition Engineer to translate customer requirements into engineering deliverables and to manage build lists for aircraft programs.
Responsibilities include coordinating with engineering teams, maintaining verification matrices, and supporting design reviews and program milestones. Must be a U.S. Person under ITAR with a mechanical/aerospace engineering degree and relevant experience.
Translates customer sales requirements from Spec and Interior Design Drawing (IDD) into actionable design engineering deliverables. Develops and maintains Preliminary Build Lists and Initial Build Lists for assigned aircraft programs. Creates and manages preliminary aircraft tasking and engineering work packages. Coordinates with Design Engineering teams to ensure technical requirements are properly defined. Facilitates communication between Completions Engineering, Baseline Engineering, Configuration Management, and program leadership. Develops, maintains, and verifies Requirements Verification Matrices (RVMs) for requirement traceability and compliance. Generates CTS tasking to support aircraft design activities. Participates in Preliminary Design Review (PDR), Engineering Design Review (EDR), Program Review (PR), and Definition Hand-Off meetings. Supports aircraft configuration definition utilizing SmarTeam and associated engineering systems. Conducts root cause and corrective analysis for engineering definition discrepancies, build issues, and process deviations.
