United Global Technologies seeks an Electrical Engineer in Los Alamos, NM, to perform design engineering in support of facility operations and maintenance. The position requires broad knowledge of engineering principles, with responsibilities including engineering design, analysis, and project support.
Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and have at least 6 years of relevant experience. Must possess the ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance and familiarity with industry standards. Flexible work schedules may include 10-hour shifts.
The Electrical Engineer will perform a full range of design engineering responsibilities in support of facility design, operation, and maintenance activities. This role requires applying broad and diversified knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and DOE-complex requirements.
Responsible for assigned activities within an engineering discipline in support of facility design, operation and maintenance. Applies broad and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in the preparation of complex engineering analyses. Performs all aspects of work in engineering operations within discipline. Performs conventional structural design and analysis. Provides system integration within and across disciplines. Provides construction and project support. May lead projects and supervise the work of others. Able to work independently and as part of a team. Utilizes engineering technology to accomplish work. Leads work process improvement to meet customer needs.
Education: Position typically requires a baccalaureate degree in engineering from an accredited college or university and practical work experience to the degree necessary to perform the responsibilities outlined above.
This position may be subject to DOE Order 426.2, Personnel Selection, Training, and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities. This DOE Order establishes entry-level requirements to ensure employees in the positions can successfully perform the requirements of the job.
