Job summary

NR Consulting is seeking an experienced design engineer to work under a senior engineer on electrical design projects. You will analyze data, exercise judgment within standard practices, and serve as a primary client contact where needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in electrical design and AutoCAD/Revit.
• Professional Engineering License a plus.
• Familiar with data centers and mission critical design principles a plus.
• Familiar with lighting and fire alarm systems a plus.
• Have a valid driver's license.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Travel to project sites, via car/plane/train as required to complete tasks.

• A general understanding of electrical systems, electrical and building codes, etc.
• Able to execute drafting through AutoCAD/Revit.
• Conforming to company standards (AutoCAD/Revit, network).
• Good writing and oral communication skills.
• Must have excellent computer (Microsoft - Word, Excel, etc.), mathematical and communication skills.
• Must be familiar with short circuit, coordination and arc flash studies.
• Must be able to work with others and accept direction from various senior personnel.
• Must be a self-starter and able to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Must have working knowledge of English language and ability to speak and write English with technical terms.

The design engineering candidate shall work under the supervision of a senior engineer and will be responsible for electrical design. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. May be the primary contact with clients. The candidate shall have a thorough understanding of low voltage electrical systems and ability to execute projects with minimal oversight.

• Ability to execute standard electrical calculations
