Job summary

NR Consulting is seeking a design engineer to work under a senior engineer and perform electrical design. The role includes drafting with AutoCAD/Revit, client interaction, and solving problems across diverse scopes. Travel to project sites may be required.

Requirements include 5–7 years in electrical design with AutoCAD/Revit, a valid driver's license, and legal US work authorization. A Professional Engineering License is a plus; familiarity with data centers, lighting, and fire alarm systems

Qualifications

Job description

The design engineering candidate shall work under the supervision of a senior engineer and will be responsible for electrical design. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. May be the primary contact with clients. The candidate shall have a thorough understanding of low voltage electrical systems and ability to execute projects with minimal oversight.

Roles and Responsibilities include:

• Travel to project sites, via car/plane/train as required to complete tasks
• Ability to execute standard electrical calculations
• Equipment Selections and Equipment Applications
• A general understanding of electrical systems, electrical and building codes, etc.
• Able to execute their own drafting thru AutoCAD/Revit
• Conforming to company standards (AutoCAD/Revit, network)
• Good writing and oral communication skills
• Must have excellent computer (Microsoft - Word, Excel, etc.), mathematical and communication skills
• Must be familiar with the preparation and evaluation of short circuit, coordination and arc flash studies.
• Must be able to work with others and accept direction from various senior personnel
• Must be a self-starter and able to work independently and be responsible for meeting deadlines, including working necessary hours to meet deliverables deadline.
• Must have working knowledge of English language and the ability to speak and write English with technical terms.

• Exercises independent judgment in selecting and interpreting information.
