A leading company in automation and control systems is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to design and develop electrical schematics for complex systems. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and experience with AutoCAD Electrical, as well as strong knowledge of power system design and PLC programming. Electrical Design Engineer – Automation and Control Systems
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop electrical schematics for complex test and machine systems, including automation and control systems, electro-mechanical equipment, instrumentation, PLCs, data acquisition systems, and hydraulic/pneumatic controls.
Generate detailed specifications based on testing requirements for new systems and applications in development. This includes conceptual design, detailed product design, and creating verification and validation test plans.
Apply standards such as NEC, UL, IEC, IEEE, NFPA, and OSHA to ensure compliance in product and system design.
Provide technical guidance to the project team throughout the design process, ensuring one-line diagrams, control schematic layouts, and panel layouts adhere to recognized engineering standards.
Promote consistency by standardizing product drawings to align with global product guidelines and design philosophies.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
Proven experience with AutoCAD Electrical for drafting and designing electrical schematics.
Strong understanding of adjustable speed drive systems, with the ability to select and size system components, ensuring compatibility with power distribution systems, one-line diagrams, and major power components.
Proficient in power system design and analysis, including knowledge of the per unit analysis method, short circuit current analysis, power quality analysis, and arc flash calculations.
Background in controls theory, with hands-on experience in PLC programming—preferably Siemens S7.
Experience with E-Plan design software and familiarity with ERP systems, especially SAP GEO, is a plus.
