Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Raleigh, NC is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to translate requirements into practical designs for transformer and power systems. You’ll balance quality, cost, and schedule while collaborating with a broad set of partners to move concepts from idea to production.

You’ll lead design reviews, support testing and deployment of tools, and own complex tasks with independence yet stay connected to a team focused on delivering reliable energy solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required.
• 3+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Distribution transformer design experience (internship experience considered).
• Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Experience collaborating across teams and functions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver electrical designs on time and to quality expectations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to keep projects on track.
• Participate in design reviews and technical discussions.
• Support the development of special and custom designs.
• Identify and lead improvements to engineering processes and products.
• Define and document requirements for system enhancements.
• Support testing, validation, and deployment of tools and solutions.
• Provide technical support to customers and internal teams.
• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
