Job summary

LHH US, confidential client in the Long Island, NY area, is seeking a Senior PCB Design Engineer to lead RF, analog, and digital PCB design efforts for high-performance systems. You will design and document complex PCBAs, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure manufacturability and reliability.

The role requires 7+ years of PCB/electrical design, proficiency with Mentor PADS or similar tools, and strong technical communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of PCB design, electrical design, or related engineering experience.
  • Strong experience designing RF, analog, and digital circuit card assemblies.
  • Experience with single-layer, multilayer, and high-density PCB designs.
  • Knowledge of SMT and hybrid circuit technologies.
  • Experience supporting RF and/or DC circuit board designs.
  • Understanding of electrical, mechanical, and electro-mechanical integration principles.
  • Proficiency with PCB design software such as Mentor PADS, Logic, or comparable design tools.
  • Strong documentation, organization, and technical communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop RF, analog, and digital PCBAs and multilayer PCBs.
  • Create detailed PCB layouts, schematics, assembly drawings, routing drawings, and related design documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to evaluate customer requirements and determine feasibility, cost, and schedule.
  • Support development of design concepts and establish appropriate design approaches.
  • Provide technical guidance to engineers, designers, and drafters throughout development.
  • Identify and implement cost-reduction opportunities related to PCB design, fabrication, and assembly.
  • Coordinate with PCB fabricators, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to meet design requirements.
  • Support proposal development by providing estimates for design effort, schedules, materials, and manufacturing considerations.
  • Maintain design documentation, engineering records, BOMs, schematics, and revision-controlled files.
  • Ensure designs align with industry standards, manufacturability, and quality objectives.

Senior PCB Design Engineer

Confidential Client | Long Island, NY Area

A well-established engineering and manufacturing organization is seeking a Senior PCB Design Engineer to support the development of advanced RF, analog, and digital electronic systems. This position plays a key role in the design and layout of complex printed circuit board assemblies used in high-performance applications.

Position Overview

The Senior PCB Design Engineer will be responsible for the detailed design, layout, and documentation of RF, analog, and digital circuit card assemblies. This individual will collaborate closely with electrical engineers, manufacturing teams, and external suppliers to develop reliable, cost-effective designs while ensuring compliance with technical and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop RF, analog, and digital printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) and multilayer PCBs.
  • Create detailed PCB layouts, schematics, assembly drawings, routing drawings, and related design documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to evaluate customer requirements and determine technical feasibility, cost, and schedule considerations.

  • Strong documentation, organization, and technical communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, communications, industrial electronics, or other high-reliability applications.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and engineering document control processes.
  • Experience using Costpoint or similar business systems.
  • Working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
  • Experience coordinating with PCB fabrication and assembly vendors.
  • Background in design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-testability (DFT) methodologies.

In accordance with New York salary transparency requirements, the anticipated annual base salary range for positions is: $100k-$125k annually. Actual compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated project leadership background.
