Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a PCB Designer II to design and develop RF and multilayer PCBs at our Melville, NY office. You will create layouts, arrays, and solder stencils from schematics, generate Gerber files, and manage PLM items and BOMs to meet design goals.

The role requires 3–5 years in RF/multilayer PCB design with proficiency in OrCAD/Altium/AutoCAD/DraftSight, and the ability to customize software for better performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
• 3-5 years of RF and multilayer PCB design experience.
• Strong expertise in the design of RF and multilayer PCBs.
• Experience with complex RF/multilayer PCBs including via arrays and metal backing.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAM tools (OrCAD, Altium Designer, AutoCAD, DraftSight) and willingness to learn new software.
• Ability to customize software for PCB design to improve performance.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop PCB layouts, arrays, and solder stencils from schematics and simulations.
• Generate production-ready PCB artwork and Gerber files for suppliers and prototyping.
• Create and manage item numbers, BOMs, and engineering releases within PLM systems.
• Maintain PCB component, schematic, and project libraries while ensuring design rule compliance.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, PCB, LTCC, and stencil manufacturing teams to support design reviews.
• Review and approve supplier deliverables, respond to PLM assignments, and support ISO audits and quality processes.
• Support the release of 25+ RF and digital PCB designs with CAD tools and ERP knowledge.

• Proficiency and experience using modern CAD/CAM design tools, such as OrCAD, Altium Designer, AutoCAD, DraftSight or equivalent and willingness to learn new software as required to perform job duties.
• Ability to customize software used for design of Printed Circuit Boards in order to improve its performance and increase productivity.

Job Description

A leading RF design and manufacturing company is looking for a PCB Designer II that will be responsible for utilizing computer aided design (CAD) software, such as AutoCAD or DraftSight to design Printed Circuits Boards (PCB), PCB arrays and solder stencils, and to create/revise drawings for all items listed above, and to post new/updated drawings and documents into PLM system. They are also responsible for creating programs needed to perform Pick and Place (P&P) assembly and ensure that created drawings and documents meet product design goals and standards.

• Design and develop PCB layouts, arrays, and solder stencils from schematics, engineering markups, and simulation results.
• Generate production-ready PCB artwork and Gerber files for suppliers and in-house prototyping.
• Create and manage item numbers, BOMs, and engineering releases within PLM systems.
• Maintain PCB component, schematic, and project libraries while ensuring compliance with design rules and supplier specifications.
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, PCB, LTCC, and stencil manufacturing teams to support design reviews, resolve issues, and approve engineering documentation.
• Review and approve supplier deliverables, respond to PLM assignments, and support ISO audits, management reviews, and quality processes.
• Support the release of 25+ RF and digital PCB designs while demonstrating expertise in CAD tools, ERP systems, manufacturing methods, and company procedures.

This is a full time permanent career opportunity with benefits, 401K, Holiday Pay, PTO, etc. Base salary estimated between $90K- $100K (exact compensation may differ based upon experience). Will work fully onsite out of the Melville, NY office.
