Job summary

SJE in Madison, WI is seeking a Design Engineer to design large engineered panels using AutoCAD Electrical, review specifications, and create BOMs and manufacturing documentation. This role collaborates with Operations, Sales, and external customers to ensure clear information and successful project execution.

A 4-year Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent with 1–2 years of experience, or a 2-year degree with 3–5 years, is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, or 2-year degree with relevant experience.
• Experience: 1–2 years (or 3–5 years with a 2-year degree).
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical and reading specifications.

Responsibilities

• Design large engineered panels using AutoCAD Electrical.
• Review specifications and create bills of materials.
• Prepare manufacturing documentation and records.
• Coordinate with Operations, Sales and customers to gather required data.

The job:

As our Design Engineer, your primary role will be to design large engineered panels using AutoCAD Electrical, review/interpret specifications to build products used for water and wastewater applications and create bills of materials and documentation for the manufacturing of control panels. You will also work in close cooperation with Operation Coordinators, Sales, and external customers to ensure understanding and to obtain required information.

The skills you need:

To succeed in this role, you must have experience with:

• UL508/698A standards and application

A 4-year degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree and 1-2 years of experience or a 2-year degree with 3-5 years of experience are required.
