Base pay range

$90,000.00/yr - $107,000.00/yr

Akkodis is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer for a client in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Rate Range: $90,000/year to $107,000/year; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

For this particular assignment, candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

This role involves performing tasks for any portion in the design lifecycle of a circuit card assembly related to avionics systems. This person will contribute to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. Will include activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components.

Core Responsibilities

• Responsible for architecting moderately complex avionic computer hardware systems that include both digital and analog components.
• Perform the design, simulation and verification of a circuit card assemblies (CCA) and manage the requirements with the applicable tool.
• Prepare the necessary documentation for product development and certifications.
• Testing and integration of the circuit card assemblies installed in chassis.
• Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to execute policy/strategy.
• Good understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the business.
• Resolves issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures.
• Consults more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters
• Explains technical information to others.

Required Skills and Experience

• 6+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Knowledge of board level digital design process from schematic capture, implementation, integration, and verification.
• Strong professional technical writing and technical communication proficiency.
• Ability to break down complex problems and apply critical thinking.
• Familiarity with the Mentor Graphics Expedition Enterprise and Hyperlinx PI/SI, or similar.
• Familiarity with OrCAD PSPICE or LT Spice, Mathcad, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio.

Education:

• Bachelors degree in computer science or related field.
