Job summary

IPD Engineering seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team in Syracuse. You will work on renovation and new construction projects across commercial, multi-tenant residential, healthcare, technology, utilities and education markets.

The role emphasizes drafting, load calculations, and collaboration with engineers and architects to advance design through drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering or CAD-based design.
• At least 8 years of experience in a consulting engineering environment.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and coordinate with trades.

Responsibilities

• Draft electrical construction drawings, plans and sections.
• Perform electrical load and energy calculations.
• Coordinate with engineers and architectural trades during design.
• Develop details, equipment schedules and specifications.
• Research building performance and relevant regulations.
• Contribute to design discussions and carry concepts to drawings.
• Support sustainable design discussions and implement strategies.
• Coordinate and communicate with team members.
