This position focuses on electrical design tasks, especially during the transition of electronic components to modern standards. Responsibilities will expand to include system integrations, troubleshooting, and design modifications.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components.
• Include avionics, power distribution, hardware, transformer design, etc.
• Select electrical design tools for long-term use.
• Create and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost estimates.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety, and quality procedures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues.
• Stay updated with technological advancements and incorporate them.
• Prepare reports and documentation for stakeholders.
• Design, develop, and test systems like Aerostat, Avionics, Mooring, and Ground Systems.
• Participate in design reviews and assessments.
• Support production, testing, and field operations for improvements.
• Document engineering drawings, standards, specifications, and manuals.

Essential Skills

• BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong focus on Electrical Design.
• Proficiency in design and calculation software.
• Understanding of safety standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Knowledge of DoD airborne and ground systems.
• Experience with tethered airborne systems, payloads, data link budgets.
• Experience with electrical drawing standards and system integration.
• Support for radar or communication systems.
• Understanding of EMI management techniques.
• Test engineering experience, especially in Aerostat Systems.
• Familiarity with MatLab, C, C++, Python.
• Experience with version control and requirements tools.

Work Environment

Hybrid setup in Akron, OH, with remote and onsite work. Travel about 20%.

Pay and Benefits

$55.00 - $67.31/hr, with benefits including healthcare, 401(k), insurance, HSA, transportation, and PTO.
