Job summary

HDR in United States Utah (Salt Lake City) is seeking an Electrical Coordinator to support the design and coordination of building electrical systems. You will evaluate techniques, review documents, and write specifications while coordinating with architecture and other disciplines.

The role includes supervising CAD work and assisting project teams on small to mid-size projects. Preferred candidates hold an Electrical Engineering degree, EIT or pursuing licensure, and have 2+ years of experience

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
2+ years experience designing electrical lighting, power and systems for building projects.
Strong computer skills using AutoCAD, Revit, SKM, AGI, Easy Power and Microsoft Office.
Desire to pursue growth opportunities and obtain registration.
Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate preferred; may be titled Coordinator if not obtained yet.

Responsibilities

Perform assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of electrical engineering techniques and procedures.
Work directly with owners to develop recommendations.
Review electrical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines.
Write/edit electrical specifications, select equipment and electrical devices.
Take on contract administration responsibilities requiring field inspections and conflict resolution.
Make decisions on significant design and engineering features as needed.
Function as a Project Manager on small and mid-size projects as needed; project management is not the principal focus.
