Job summary

Nextlink Internet is seeking a Field Operations: Electrical professional to install and maintain electrical infrastructure for ISP services. You will lay out sites, install conduit, cables, poles, meters, and cabinets while working outdoors across several sites in a fast-paced team environment.

Requires a high school diploma or GED, ability to pass screenings, and comfortable working at great heights. A valid CDL/driver’s license and a proactive, team-oriented attitude are essential.

Responsibilities

• Dig trenches or install underground electrical conduit.
• Load/unload equipment and materials.
• Set poles, meters, and cabinets; install electrical services.
• Shovel, rake dirt and keep site clean; protect surrounding area.
• Troubleshoot and document job turnover; take site photos.

Company Overview We are a Hudson Oaks, Texas-based Internet Service Provider (ISP) delivering High Speed Internet and Voice Services throughout multiple states to residential, business, K-12 Education and government customers. The applicant will have the knowledge, skills and ability to successfully layout a site and install electrical run. This will include PVC, Rigid, EMT. Able to perform job in a timely, professional, and safely manner.

Essential Functions

• Responsible for company provided vehicle, trailer, tools, equipment and supplies Dig trenches or running underground electrical pipe (conduit)
• Load / unload equipment and material
• Pull wire and install electrical services
• Learn how to bend and install conduit
• Clean up at the end of the day
• Set pole and meter bases
• Set and wire in cabinets
• Set concrete foundations for cabinets
• Shoveling and raking dirt and gravel
• Pick up trash on site daily
• Take pictures of final work and provide all turnover documentation
• Must be able to climb roof tops of all types and to perform job duties from high places.
• Must be able to pull own body weight plus equipment weight up roofs and vertical tower repeatedly
• Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, sit, and climb ladders and communication towers and work in an elevated position
• Frequently required to use hand and power tools
• Must have the ability to climb extended heights upwards of 200 feet
• Other duties as assigned

Skills

• Ability to climb extended heights upwards of 200 feet is a plus but not required
• Must pass a drug screening test and a criminal background check.
• Proven ability to operate excavation equipment is a plus but not a requirement
• Must have a valid driver’s license with a safe/acceptable driving record in compliance with company policy
• Must be comfortable in a rapidly changing environment and adapts easily to change
• Ability to work in a team environment and collaborative in style
• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
• Professionalism and ability to work with other department managers and supervisors
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to interpret reports and metrics
• Ability to use initiative and work efficiently with minimal supervision

Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

Working Hours/Days: Monday through Friday Possible weekends Flexible schedule Overtime as needed

Travel Requirements: 50% Overnight travel
