Job summary

State of Connecticut - Department of Children & Families (DCF) is seeking an Electrician to perform a full range of skilled duties in electrical maintenance and repair at John Dempsey Hospital, Middletown, CT. The role requires adherence to electrical codes and safe work practices.

Qualifications

• Considerable knowledge of and ability to apply standard tools, materials, methods and standard electrical trade practices.

Responsibilities

• Performs highly skilled tasks in accordance with standard electrical trade practices and codes.
• Lays out and installs electrical conduit for power and lighting.
• Repairs electrical motors, controllers, switchboard panels, and related equipment.
• Installs open and concealed wiring and lighting fixtures.
• Maintains and repairs various electrical systems and equipment.
• May operate heavy equipment and respond to emergencies at state airports.
