Hartford HealthCare’s Windham Hospital seeks an experienced Electrical Journeyperson to maintain, repair, and install electrical systems across the facility. The role involves preventive maintenance, urgent repairs, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

The ideal candidate holds a Connecticut E-1 trade license and a valid driver’s license, with at least two years as a licensed journeyperson and six years of related experience. Strong reading of specs and design drawings is required.

Qualifications

  • Trade school in electrical discipline or high school with equivalent trade experience.
  • Minimum of two years as an unlimited licensed journeyperson, plus E1 license; at least six years of equivalent trade work experience and training.
  • Connecticut E-1 trade license and a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to read and understand design drawings and technical specifications; proficient with tools and equipment of the trade.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain electrical systems in safe condition and perform preventive maintenance.
  • Install new electrical systems and components and obtain required electrical permits.
  • Perform routine repairs and urgent corrections as necessary.
  • Read and interpret design drawings and technical specifications to guide work.

Job Summary

Maintains the electrical systems of the facility in safe condition. Performs preventive maintenance, routine repairs and urgent corrections to electrical systems and equipment as necessary. Installs new electrical systems and electrical components and obtains all necessary electrical permits as required by regulatory agencies.

Qualifications
Education

Trade school graduate in an electrical discipline or high school graduate with equivalent trade experience.

Experience

Minimum of two years (2) as an unlimited licensed journeyperson, in addition to E1 license. At least (6) years of equivalent trade work experience and training.

Licensure, Certification, Registration
  • Connecticut E-1 trade license
  • Valid driver’s license
Knowledge, Skills And Ability Requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of the electrical trade is necessary.
  • Ability to read and understand design drawings and technical specifications.
  • Proficient in the use of tools and equipment required in the trade and possess good diagnostic skills.
  • Able to work in a time constrained and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Basic computer knowledge to enter and retrieve data (including opening/reading email, basic internet use).
