Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Cost Engineer - Electrical to support large-scale construction projects within the advanced manufacturing space. This role focuses on reviewing and validating contractor change orders for electrical scopes, using Procore to verify costs and schedule impacts.

The ideal candidate will challenge contractor pricing, coordinate with project managers and controls teams, and ensure pricing aligns with contractual requirements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience reviewing, validating, and managing construction change orders within Electrical scopes.
• Experience supporting large-scale commercial, industrial, semiconductor, or data center construction projects.
• Hands-on experience utilizing Bluebeam Revu for drawing review, quantity takeoffs, scope verification, and change order validation.
• Proven ability to evaluate contractor change order requests for labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, and schedule impacts related to MEP systems.
• Strong cost analysis and estimating experience with the ability to challenge contractor pricing and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Advanced Excel skills for cost tracking, reporting, and financial analysis.
• Experience with owner-side project controls or cost engineering and Primavera P6 or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Review and validate contractor change order requests related to electrical scopes.
• Utilize Procore to evaluate change orders, verify labor/material costs, and assess schedule impacts.
• Collaborate with project managers, construction teams, subcontractors, and project controls to resolve pricing discrepancies.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations for change order approval.
