Job summary

Coca-Cola Southwest Beverages is seeking a Controls Technician to provide electrical and controls support for plant operations in Abilene, TX. The role involves maintaining high-voltage systems, PLCs, and safety compliance, with focus on 600V equipment and control centers.

The candidate will perform preventive maintenance, install and fault-find on automation hardware, and collaborate with engineers and operators to ensure safe and efficient production.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; technical mfg. trade, or Associate's Degree preferred.
• 3-5 Years of manufacturing maintenance experience focused on controls and electronics maintenance preferred.
• Proficiency in controls equipment, i.e. Allen Bradley PLCs, VFDs, HMIs, and Industrial Networks required.
• Basic Programmable Logic Control (PLC) knowledge required.
• Must be able to use a computer and associated PLC software programs.
• Able to read one-line diagrams, blueprints and schematics.
• Must have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical and control systems to include disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, and calibration.
• Read and translate building and process blueprints to install outlets, circuits, and load centers.
• Test connections after installation to ensure proper operation and safety.
• Troubleshoot electrical and controls issues in industrial equipment and processes.
• Maintain motor control centers, switchgear, robots, controllers, transformers and generators.
• Update CMMS with accurate asset records.
