Job summary

Barchemy LLC is seeking an Electrical Controls & Maintenance Technician to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical, electronic, and automated control systems across our Pennsylvania confectionery facility.

This role supports production by keeping PLC- and HMI-controlled equipment online, interpreting schematics, backing up PLC programs, and coordinating with contractors on upgrades while following GMP, SQF, and NFPA 70E safety standards.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED is required.
3+ years of industrial electrical/controls maintenance experience in manufacturing.
Hands-on experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment and reading ladder logic.
Strong knowledge of HMI operation and safety practices (LOTO/NFPA 70E).
Experience with 480V 3‑phase power distribution and motor controls.
Able to read electrical schematics and OEM manuals.
Familiar with CMMS and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and control issues on production equipment including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and servo drives.
Interpret wiring diagrams, panel layouts, and ladder logic; modify and back up PLC programs as needed.
Configure and troubleshoot HMI applications and industrial networks; document changes.
Perform preventive maintenance per the plant PM program and document workmanship.
Coordinate with contractors on installation, upgrades, and relocations per NEC standards.
Maintain instrumentation and support mechanical maintenance tasks as needed.
Follow and enforce electrical safety procedures (NFPA 70E) and GMP/sanitation requirements.
