Job summary

First Quality is seeking an experienced Controls (Electrical) Engineer for its McElhattan, PA facility. The role designs, implements, and upgrades complex controls systems on production equipment, providing mentorship to other engineers and technicians, linking improvements to plant performance.

You will collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams, specify DCS/PLC/HMI solutions, lead small capital projects, and drive safety and continuous improvement while keeping quality and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in electro-mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, automation, robotics, or manufacturing engineering.
AutoCAD experience for schematic drawings.
2+ years in Industrial Controls Systems.
Advanced knowledge of electrical theory.
Advanced PLC knowledge (Rockwell and Siemens), servo control, and HMI.
Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Training in Functional Machine Safety and Safety Risk Assessment.
Knowledge or training in ISO 62443 security.
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt (preferred but not required).
Root Cause Analysis experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production to design, install, and start up equipment and controls.
Specify and design DCS/PLC/HMI systems and servo drives based on standards.
Evaluate electrical equipment and select best solutions.
Modify PLC, DCS, and HMI programs to improve performance.
Lead troubleshooting and mentor others in fault finding.
Support MES data collection and drive capital projects.
