Job summary

ANDRITZ is seeking an experienced Electrical & Controls Engineer to join our Alpharetta, GA office. The role focuses on the design, development, and delivery of electrical and control projects that enhance plant productivity, reliability, and sustainability for North American customers.

Responsibilities include auditing facilities, designing MV/LV power systems, protection schemes, DCS/PLC/HMI programming, and tender/installation documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills (English).
• Resourceful, self-managed, and goal driven but able to work effectively in a team.
• Legal entitlement to work in the USA.
• Travel willingness to domestic and international sites (5-20%).

Responsibilities

• Audit industrial facilities and develop preliminary engineering designs and estimates for electrical and control system upgrades.
• Design industrial MV and LV electrical power systems, including electrical room design, equipment specifications, motor control and grounding systems, and cable and raceway sizing and layouts.
• Perform protection and control systems design and settings.
• Complete electrical control and instrumentation system design including P&ID drawings, control system architecture, and instrumentation systems.
• Design, program and configure DCS and PLC/HMI applications.
• Perform system checkout, testing, and commissioning.
• Prepare and evaluate tender and construction packages, including electrical and instrumentation drawings, installation specifications, and other supporting documentation.

Qualifications (Required)

• Graduate of a bachelor's or diploma program in electrical engineering (or similar);
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in industrial engineering;
• Experience in pulp & paper an asset;
• Resourceful, self-managed, and goal driven but still able to work effectively in a team;
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills (English);
• Registered as a Professional Engineer is a requirement;
• Practical knowledge of North American standards;
• Legally entitled to work in the USA;
• Ability and willingness to travel to domestic and international sites (typically 5-20%).
