Job summary

RagnarTech Inc. seeks an Electrical Controls Engineer to develop, program, and support IQAN-based control systems for the 9400/9700 Series grinders.

You will focus on MD4/MC4 logic, operator interfaces, safety interlocks, CAN bus communication, and system diagnostics while collaborating with Mechanical, Hydraulic, and Production teams. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, 3–7 years in mobile machinery controls, and strong IQANdesign/IQANsimulate skills.

Qualifications

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 3–7 years of experience in mobile machinery controls (forestry, construction, recycling, or agriculture).
  • Proficiency with IQANdesign and IQANsimulate.
  • Strong understanding of CAN bus, J1939, sensors, relays, and mobile electrical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop IQANdesign programs for MD4 displays and MC4 controllers.
  • Create machine control logic for feed systems, rotor load control, engine integration, and safety circuits.
  • Design electrical schematics, wiring harnesses, sensor layouts, and control panels.
  • Implement J1939 CAN bus communication with diesel engines and hydraulic controllers.
  • Build operator interfaces, diagnostic screens, and service menus.
  • Validate control systems through bench testing, machine commissioning, and field trials.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and software issues during production builds.
  • Maintain revision-controlled software, documentation, and change logs.
  • Support continuous improvement and new product development.

Position Summary

The Electrical Controls Engineer develops, programs, and supports IQAN-based control systems for RagnarTech’s 9400/9700 Series grinders. This role focuses on MD4/MC4 logic, operator interfaces, safety interlocks, CAN bus communication, and system diagnostics while working closely with Mechanical, Hydraulic, and Production teams.
