Job summary

Leggett & Platt Inc. is seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer to design, test and troubleshoot new components for the bedding division. You will design circuits, prototype concepts, and program in IEC 61131 while ensuring motion systems and servo sizing meet project goals.

Collaboration with manufacturing, purchasing and vendors will be essential. The role requires 2–3 years of electrical engineering experience, strong documentation skills and travel to domestic and international sites.

Qualifications

2–3 years Electrical Engineering experience.
Demonstrated experience in design, testing and troubleshooting of electrical controls.
Willing to travel domestically and internationally and interact with customers and suppliers.

Responsibilities

Design electrical circuits and build prototypes to prove concepts.
Program in IEC 61131.
Knowledgeable in servo sizing and selection.
Knowledgeable in designing and programming coordinated motion systems.
Perform engineering calculations.
Create and revise detailed drawings and bill of materials.
Ensure component introduction and change management activities are communicated.
Perform board level and system level testing.
Prepare test procedures and protocols for technicians.
Document test results and generate high level summary reports.
Work with manufacturing, purchasing, vendors, and other non‑engineering teams.
Review product design for compliance with electrical engineering principles.
Knowledgeable of UL, NEC, NFPA and CE standards and work with labs on certification.
