Job summary

Sealed Air Corporation in Simpsonville, SC, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and improve electrical and control systems across our manufacturing operations, driving reliability, efficiency, and performance.

You will lead design, implementation, and troubleshooting of electrical systems, working with PLCs, HMIs, and motor drives to support packaging equipment and production lines. This role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration and system optimization.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited university.
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical design, controls engineering, or project engineering.
  • PLC programming and industrial control systems experience.
  • Allen-Bradley PLCs and variable speed drives experience.
  • HMI software experience (GE Proficy or Rockwell).
  • Control system design and tuning experience.
  • Industrial networks including Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, or Profibus.
  • Motor control, servo drives, and VFDs knowledge.
  • Electrical distribution systems (480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, 24 VDC).
  • AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical proficiency.
  • Engineering documentation and electrical drawing development.
  • Manufacturing equipment troubleshooting and startup.
  • Microsoft Office and ERP system familiarity.
  • Project engineering and cross-functional coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical and control systems for manufacturing and packaging equipment.
  • Manage electrical engineering activities within capital and equipment projects, including requirements, schedules, documentation, and implementation.
  • Program, configure, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, variable frequency drives, servo systems, and industrial control networks.
  • Develop electrical drawings, control system documentation, bills of materials, and engineering specifications.
  • Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, EH&S, internal customers, suppliers, and contractors to deliver effective technical solutions.
  • Analyze complex equipment and process issues and implement solutions to improve reliability, throughput, yield, and cost.
  • Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements to existing manufacturing equipment and control systems.
  • Provide technical guidance to engineering and manufacturing teams during equipment design, installation, startup, and troubleshooting activities.

What will you do as an Electrical Engineer at Sealed Air?

As an Electrical Engineer at Sealed Air, you will design, develop, and improve electrical and control systems that support our global manufacturing operations. You will independently contribute to engineering projects from design through startup, applying your technical expertise to improve equipment reliability, manufacturing efficiency, and operational performance.
