Job summary

Chantland-MHS Company in Dakota City, IA, is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to design electrical control systems for material handling, bag filling, and robotic palletizing systems. You will draft and design using AutoCAD and produce detailed electrical schematics for manufacturing and field assembly.

The role requires knowledge of electrical practices, PLCs, motor controls, and strong documentation skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Design or related field or equivalent experience.
• Proficient user of AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of electrical practices and control system components.
• Familiarity with PLCs, motor control circuits, and industrial electrical systems.
• Strong math, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical control systems for material handling equipment, bag filling equipment, and robotic palletizing systems.
• Perform electrical drafting and design work using AutoCAD.
• Produce detailed electrical schematics for manufacturing and field assembly.
• Apply Chantland-MHS drafting standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with Lead Controls Designers and Engineering leadership on project execution.
• Develop accurate and timely design documentation with minimal errors.
