Genuine Parts Company is seeking a detail-oriented Service Technician to join our manufacturing team in Michigan. You will assemble, wire, and test electrical control panels according to engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications, ensuring reliability in a fast-paced production setting.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or better, experience with control panels, and a solid understanding of electrical systems, safety protocols, and code compliance.

Qualifications

• Reading electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Experience building/assembling control panels to specs.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to follow safety protocols and electrical codes.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and wire electrical control panels, enclosures, and sub-panels per blueprints and diagrams.
• Install and connect relays, circuit breakers, switches, transformers, PLCs and other devices.
• Perform point-to-point wiring, cable routing, and wire termination with accuracy.
• Test and troubleshoot assembled panels to ensure functionality and quality compliance.
• Interpret schematics, layout drawings, and technical instructions.
• Follow safety protocols and electrical codes during all work.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to resolve issues.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and proper tool maintenance.
• Document issues or changes in the assembly process.
• Meet project deadlines and production schedules while maintaining quality.
