Progressive Surface, Inc. is seeking a Quality Engineer 1 to support the quality assurance program for our process services department. The role emphasizes root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and documentation to ensure product and process compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from four-year college or university.
• Prefer 1 year experience as a Quality Engineer in manufacturing.
• Excellent computer skills (Windows, Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Work independently and proactively.
• Experience with PFMEA, Control Plans and PPAP.
• Experience with statistical analysis (Excel, Minitab, etc.).
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions.

Responsibilities

• Assist Process Services manager, Quality Manager and Production Team with the quality management system.
• Root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues or quality escapes.
• Support Quality Inspectors and Specialists to ensure compliance with the quality system.
• Execute continual improvement activities (5S, Kaizen lean methods).
• Develop training to build quality awareness.
• Conduct audits and close audit findings with corrective actions.
• Create and maintain Process Services quality documentation (PFMEA, control plans).
• Plan and manage receiving/outgoing quality functions.
• Prepare QA reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• 1. Assist Process Services manager, Quality Manager and the Production Team in implementing and maintaining the quality management system
• 2. Root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for production related concerns or quality escapes
• 3. Support the Quality Inspectors and Quality Specialists to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the quality management system.
• 4. Execution of continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen lean methods, etc.
• 5. Develop training to build quality awareness.
• 6. Conduct audits, including closing out audit findings, creating audits finding reports and determining proper corrective and preventive actions.
• 7. Create and maintain Process Services quality documentation, such as quality manuals, quality work instructions, PFMEA and control plans.
• 8. Responsible for planning, organizing and managing the overall activities of receiving / outgoing quality functions.
• 9. Preparation of QA reports.
